This is a good town to buy a home in for those who prefer a more relaxed ambience. Surrounding the famed Columbine Country Club, a championship golf course, this quite suburb with mature trees winds around parks, trails, bike paths the Platte River and the Littleton Golf and Tennis Club. It’s not uncommon to see families driving around in golf carts and bicycles since there is access to a number of public green spaces, such as Mary Carter Greenway and South Platte River Park, for residents to enjoy.

Children can also receive a high-quality education, being part of the Littleton Public School system, which are within walking distance from majority of homes in Columbine Valley. Within walking/biking distance, is Historic downtown Littleton which offers a variety of charming shops, great dining, a library, theater and even a museum. As well as easy access into downtown Denver via Highway 85/South Santa Fe Drive.

After the establishment of the Columbine Country Club in 1955, a small number of families would decide to reside permanently due to the love of the area’s open views of the mountains and South Platte River. In 1959, these early homeowners successfully petition the incorporation of their small community (just a little over one square mile) into a town. The predominant housing type in this town is single family detached homes, roughly built in the 1960s through the1990s. Over the last 10 years new home communities, of both customs and semi-custom homes, have begun popping up along the north end of the town, and along the Platte River.
